Reminded me of one of the things I remember the most fondly about my childhood: Micro Machines card art
I know this probably sounds kinda lame, but these images, with all kinds of vehicles cartoonized against a vibrant sunset background always had some sort of weirdly hipnotizing effect on me. This one, with all the vehicles running side by side is my particular favorite.
And this one, with two radically different types of cars, is about as jalop as they come.

Here's mine:
Toolbox City Set, from the Christmas of 1995 or 1996. Came with two cars, a Bandit and a Corvette C4, and it's still complete, even after all these years.

Tsc, what a shame, man... My mom is probably the biggest reason I still have mine, though; she made it a point to take care of me and my sibling's toys. All of this stuff was actually imported, so my parents preferred to pay a little more for high quality american toys than the low quality Brazilian knock offs, as long as we took care of them.
My antipatriotism runs in the family :p

My favorite Micro Machine memory would have to be using my Micros on the game of Life board. I would line them up at the start line and spin the spinner for each one, highest number went first. Once "qualifying" was finished I would star with pole position, spin the wheel and move that car then move to the next. I'd spent the next 30 minutes having my own little road race with about 5 to 10 different Micro Machines. Good times that got a little better when I moved the races to my Fireball Island game board.
After that every thing had a bit more of a rally feel.

That's awesome. We never had those games in Brazil though, at least not when I was a kid. Life actually a had a dumbed down knock off made by a local company, but Fireball Island I only ever saw at James Rolfe's videos.

The game itself was pretty fun, but once my older sister became to "cool" (her words at the time) for board games I had to find new ways to use it and other board games. I tried some other things but the Micro Machine races really were the best.

When I was in 4th grade (4 years ago) I found a '68 Camaro convertible Micro Machine on the playground during recess.
(pic not mine)
I then proceeded to promptly lose it. It was a great car too, and rolled insanely smooth.

I know that feeling bro... I once forgot to pick mine up from my grandparents' backyard, and my dog ate a whole bunch of them, over 20, IIRC. I don't know how she didn't get sick or anything, but I never saw those cars again. Even if I went digging her... leftovers, they be all chewed up.
